• Turisme Garrotxa is a non-profit private association made up of representatives from both the private and public tourism sectors in La Garrotxa. This year, it celebrates its 30th anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to a tourism development model based on sustainability, public-private cooperation, and the preservation of the region’s natural, cultural, and social values. This milestone comes at a key moment for the territory: it coincides with the closing of a stage that has consolidated a pioneering tourism model based on sustainability and shared governance, and with the beginning of a new cycle marked by the ECST Strategy Garrotxa and Alta Garrotxa 2026–2030.

  • The association includes all the municipalities of La Garrotxa, the Garrotxa County Council, the Alta Garrotxa Consortium and the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. As for the private sector, Turisme Garrotxa has agreements with the Garrotxa Hospitality Association and the Garrotxa Rural Accommodation Association. It also has collaboration agreements with the Olot Market Stallholders Association, the Olot Traders Association and the Garrotxa Rural Tourism Association.

    Turisme Garrotxa provides a portfolio of basic services to all associated companies, and also offers an extensive range of tailor-made services, the most notable of which is the Innovation and Product Service, aimed at commercialisation and improving company quality through accreditation with the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (ECST).

    Promoting sustainable and quality tourism is Turisme Garrotxa’s main objective, as reflected in its statutes.

    Since 2001, Turisme Garrotxa has successfully applied the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (ECST) as the framework for all its actions; it fosters the dissemination of quality information and, since 2009, has offered the implementation of the ECST to tourism companies.

Turisme Garrotxa works to improve the competitiveness of its partners and members by providing services in information, guidance, consultancy, training, promotion of the tourism offer, design of tourism products, and support for commercialisation.

Turisme Garrotxa promotes, represents, and coordinates, in a participatory way, a sustainable tourism development model rooted in the territory, which combines respect for the environment with the needs and expectations of the organisations, businesses, and municipalities that benefit from its services.

  • 2021 – For the Garrotxa Approp app, an initiative in which Turisme Garrotxa participates together with DinàmiG, the Garrotxa County Council, Olot City Council, the Garrotxa Hospitality Association, the Olot Traders Association, and the Olot Market Stallholders Association:
    • E-TECH Award for the best initiative in local administration, granted by the Girona Association of New Technology Companies (AENTEG).
    • Public Management Award at the National Commerce Awards of the Government of Catalonia.
