Noble building dating from the 13th and 14th centuries which, after being inhabited by different Christian families and a Jewish one (Astruc David, 1300-1362), passed into the hands of the family of Bernat Cavaller, the king’s procurator.
In the upper part of the building, divided into three floors, is the Gothic room, which preserves a 14th-century wooden coffered ceiling and magnificent ogival arches. On the ground floor, a cultural space has been installed in which an audiovisual is projected that provides additional information about Besalú to the visitor.
