Fira de la Primavera

Fira de la Primavera

Fira del Primer de Maig, a Olot.

Every May 1st, the city of Olot celebrates its traditional Spring Fair, a festive day designed to enjoy the season, stroll through different markets and take part in cultural and leisure activities for all audiences. It is a multi-sector fair that fills the city centre with life throughout the day. A must-see event to welcome spring!

In the 2026 edition, the fair features a variety of markets and spaces across the centre of Olot. Visitors will find a special clothing and accessories market in Plaça Balmes and surrounding streets; the 43rd Automobile Market (new and second-hand vehicles) at the Firalet; a craft market and a flower and plant market at the Firal; and a commercial and garden machinery area at the Firal Petit. There will also be a collectibles and flea market at Plaça de l’Hospital and a record fair under the arcades of Plaça Josep Clarà.

The Hospici will host the 31st Bonsai and Suiseki Exhibition, organised by the Associació Garrotxina d’Amics del Bonsai, while the Firalet will feature the 21st History of Motor in Garrotxa exhibition, this year dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Vespa, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Throughout the day, the programme includes a wide range of activities. At the Firal, Floreria will offer a nature-inspired play space for children, along with a plant workshop for both kids and adults. In Plaça Major, Juga d’Approp! will take place, with prize draws linked to the Garrotxa Approp app, as well as a large installation of giant games. From 12 pm to 2 pm, there will also be the guided itinerary Public space: heritage, housing and urban life, connected to the EUmies Awards 2026.

At Plaça Esteve Ferrer, a castellers workshop will be held at 12 pm with the Xerrics d’Olot, while Plaça U d’Octubre will host Extra Motivated People, a dance and theatre performance by Losinformalls. In Plaça Josep Clarà, children can enjoy pony and donkey rides, and the Moixina area will host the 13th Cursa de la Moixina.

During the day, a blood donation bus will be available on Carrer Bolòs (10 am–2 pm and 4 pm–8 pm). Guided visits to the Espai Cràter and the Montsacopa volcano are also scheduled, and shops in the commercial area will remain open. Many more activities are included in the full programme.

Over the weekend, a Healthy Routes session at the Sant Roc springs will take place on May 1st. On Saturday, May 2nd, Abacus Olot will host a LEGO Classic building activity. On Sunday, May 3rd, coinciding with Mother’s Day, the 4th Mother’s Walk will be held, starting from Plaça Josep Clarà and going through the city centre, along with a tribute event featuring sardana dancing, speeches and a poetry recital by local schoolchildren.
