The initiative recognises and promotes local productive activities linked to the territory, becoming a key tool to foster a sustainable model across all protected natural areas.
The Catalan Government has decided to extend the “Fet al Parc” programme to all protected natural areas across the region. The initiative aims to recognise and promote primary sector activities, agri-food production and crafts linked to these spaces, fostering a model that combines economic activity with the conservation of the natural environment.
Previously implemented in a limited number of natural parks, the programme will now become a shared tool across the entire network of protected areas in Catalonia. Through this label, it seeks to highlight initiatives committed to sustainability, traceability and respect for natural, landscape and cultural values, while also encouraging the consumption of local and proximity products.
The programme also has a strong economic and territorial dimension, as it aims to strengthen locally rooted productive activities and create new opportunities for local producers. In this regard, efforts will be made to improve product marketing and facilitate their presence in different channels, such as visitor centres and tourism facilities within the parks.
With this expansion, the Catalan Government takes a further step towards consolidating a model that integrates tourism, local economy and conservation, aligned with current sustainability and natural area management challenges.
