Located on the tip of a large cliff, with wide views of all directions, it provides the name lighthouse without a doubt, the Far Sanctuary is one of the places of greatest visibility of the country.

The walk to the sanctuary of El Far, one of the toughest in the south of La Garrotxa, starts in Les Planes d’Hostoles. From here, it follows a section of the Carrilet greenway towards Girona but soon branches off uphill.

Halfway it is worth detouring slightly to visit a monumental oak tree – El Roure de la Xoriquera – that stands next to the farm of the same name.
