You can reach La Garrotxa by bus from Barcelona, Girona, Vic, Figueres, Puigcerdà, Ripoll, Banyoles…
On weekends, the frequency is approximately 1 bus per hour on the main lines, so getting around the county by public transport can be challenging due to the low frequency of many routes.
Between les Planes d’Hostoles and Besalú runs the Transversal Bus (timetable pdf), but only on weekdays.
If you arrive by car but want to get around by bus, it’s easy: leave your car in Olot, at the Plaça Major car park —located under the Olot bus station— for just €3.5 / day.
Olot has urban buses (TPO), running from Monday to Saturday.
Rumbus | Les Preses – Olot – Santa Pau
Rumbus is a public transport service operated by TEISA covering the route Les Preses – Olot city centre – Fageda d’en Jordà – Santa Margarida Area – Santa Pau on weekends, holidays, long weekends and other dates.
The ticket allows unlimited trips for just €2* throughout the day, letting you discover at your own pace all the attractions of the central area of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park.
On-demand transport
Clic.cat is a public transport service of the Government of Catalonia with fixed routes and schedules but only operates if booked in advance. To use it, you must first make a reservation and indicate the origin and destination stops of the line you want.
Reservations can be made through the Clic.cat app at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the first stop of the line. They can also be made by phone Monday to Friday (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.). If you need a seat for PRM, you must state it when booking.
Through the app, the client receives real-time information on the vehicle’s position and the arrival time at the chosen stop.
