Small town located in the western half of La Garrotxa, straddling the area of Mieres, Sant Jaume de Llierca and Besalú.

Its most prominent places are the sanctuary of Sant Ferriol, the church of Fares, the church of Sant Fruitós, the church of La Miana, the church of Sant Silvestre and the small and cozy neighborhood of Torn.
